Riding on the Moon.

After a full day of riding at Big Bear, our plan was to hit up Coopers Rocks on Sunday. But discussions with Jeff and Annie left us intrigued about the Davis, WV area. Over post-ride beers at our cabin, we all grew increasingly curious about Moon Rocks, a giant, cratered expanse of rock atop a …

Ladies of Big Bear.

At the grocery store in McHenry, we divided and conquered, spreading to all ends of the store to grab provisions for the weekend. It was then about a half hour drive to Big Bear Lake, where we stopped at the guard shack to grab our key. The other ladies hung out while I dealt with the …

West Virginia bound.

Last year, my friends Tammy, Allison, Carissa, and I started a tradition of a yearly long-weekend mountain bike trip, ladies only. Snowy flowy goodness in Shingletown last week before the thaw. Moody day on the Little J yesterday. Water was rippin’ fast and our usual run flew by. Much-needed new PFD, paddle, and helmet courtesy of @pennsylvaniagray holiday gifts. 👌 Best way to start 2023! Wow, what a year. Sometimes I can’t believe it all actually happened. It was somehow the worst and best year all at once. “Feels like -25” Happy Solstice! 🌞 🌙 I wasn’t really thinking about it much until I was, until the anxiety hit me seemingly out of nowhere this morning. Then I realized that it had been slowly creeping in the past couple of days, quietly eroding the general happiness and exuberance I have been feeling about getting back to being strong and feeling good and enjoying fall. I love bike commuting. I’m so happy to be able to do rides like this again. I was feeling it by the end but being tired from pedaling my bike 60+ climby miles with brutal headwinds is a million times better than being tired from chemo. Yesterday was a great day with great friends and my hardest ride since finishing up treatment 3 months ago.
